The ostrich (Struthio camelus) is the largest flightless bird on Earth, measuring up to 3 meters and weighing up to 165 kilos! The ostrich's wings are too small for it to fly. In addition to being the largest and heaviest bird in the world, the ostrich is also the fastest, because, while not able to fly, it can reach up to 90 kilometers per hour when it comes to running.
Ostrich is red meat like beef in taste and texture. Ostrich meat has great versatility and can be eaten ground, cut into steaks or as sausage and even burgers. Ostrich can be substituted for most any meat and grills very much like lean beef.
